First Saturdays and Marian Consecration

Jacinta and Francesco

Jacinta and Francesco die in the Spanish Flu epidemic in 1919-1920. They were canonized 2017. Lucia’s mission was to remain. She entered religious life. Mary appeared to her in the convent of the Dorothean Sisters in Pontevedra, Spain on December 10, 1925. The Most Holy Virgin appeared to her, and by Her side, elevated on a luminous cloud, was the Child Jesus. The Most Holy Virgin rested Her hand on her shoulder, and as She did so, She showed her a Heart encircled by thorns, which She was holding in Her other hand.

At the same time, the Child said: “Have compassion on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother, covered with thorns, with which ungrateful men pierce It at every moment, and there is no one to make an act of Reparation to remove them.”

Then the Most Holy Virgin said: “Look my daughter, at My Heart, surrounded with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce Me at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude.” Immediately Mary requested a thing that has been totally forgotten an neglected – First Saturday’s

“You at least try to console Me and announce in My name that I promise to assist at the moment of death, with all the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months shall go to confession, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary, and keep Me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the life and teachings of Jesus, with the intention of making Reparation to Me.”

A few months earlier Sr. Lucia met a street child behind the convent…she asked him if he had learned his Hail Mary’s. Then she taught him a prayer asking Mary for the Child Jesus. This time when she saw the small boy she asked him, “Did you do what I asked you to do?”

The boy turned to her and said, “And have you spread through the world what our Heavenly Mother requested of you?”

In another apparition, Jesus told Lucia that we should not make this devotion only once, but over and over again, because He and Our Lady want and even need our prayers for the conversion of sinners and peace in the world.

Our Lady’s message

On June 13, 1929, in the convent at Tuy, Spain, Mary, appeared to Lucia, holding her Immaculate Heart in her hand, saying: “The moment has come in which God asks the Holy Father in union with all the bishops of the world to make the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, promising to save it by this means. There are so many souls whom the Justice of God condemns for sins committed against me, that I have come to ask reparation: sacrifice yourself for this intention and pray.”

Lucia conveyed this message to her spiritual director. Eventually the message reached Rome. Nothing was done.

Jesus explained to Lucia why he would not convert Russia without the consecration: The conversion of Russia through consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary is to be the sign that God wants to save the whole world through the Heart of Mary

On January 25 and 26, 1938, Aurora Borealis (the lights predicted at Fatima on July 13, 1917) was seen in the United States and Europe.

Lucia, at the convent in Tuy, Spain, sends a letter to the bishop stating, “God made use of this sign to make me understand His justice was about to strike the guilty nations.”

Then, on March 12, 1938, Hitler annexed Austria, effectively beginning WWII. Pope Pius XI (+ Feb 10, 1939) Precisely as Mary said in July of 1917

Karol Wojtyla becomes John Paul II in Oct 1978.

He’s the first non-Italian pope in 450 years. On May 13, 1981, John Paul II is seriously wounded by an assassin’s bullets, fulfilling the third Secret of Fatima Soviet Bulgarians masterminded the attempt. The Pope was saved from death when he turned to look at a young girl in the crowd wearing a T-shirt with a picture of the Virgin of Fatima.

As the Pope turned, a shot aimed at his head missed. The assassin fired again, striking the Pope in the abdomen, missing the main abdominal artery by millimetres. As the Pope fell to the ground “Mary, Mary” Survived but did nothing!

But, as John Paul II was recovering from his 2nd surgery for serious life threatening infection He asked for the envelope containing the third part of the “secret.” He knew his life had been spared in order to Consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

On May 13, 1982, Pope John Paul II went to Fatima to thank Mary for saving his life. He placed the bullet in her crown “One hand fired, and another guided the bullet.” It was a mother’s hand that guided the bullets path JPII knew his life was spared in order to fulfill the consecration.

The Feast of the Annunciation

On March 25, 1984, the Feast of the Annunciation, John Paul II was joined a majority of bishops throughout the world in consecrating Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

On March 11, 1985 Mikhail Gorbachev, Last General Secretary of USSR Glasnost – Openness Perestroika - Restructuring

On November 8 1989, Sister Lucia confirmed the Consecration of Russia requested by Our Lady “has been accomplished” and “God will keep His word.”

On November 9, 1989, the Berlin Wall falls.

On December 1, 1989, Gorbachev went to the Vatican to meet with John Paul II. The Pope said the meeting was prepared by providence.

On November 18, 1990, Gorbachev went to the Vatican for the 2nd time.

On May 13, 1991, JPII publicly gave thanks to Mary for the liberation of east central Europe from Communism, which was the fruits of the Consecration to Mary on “that memorable day, March 25, 1984” and for his own deliverance from death a decade before.

On August 19, 1991, the Soviet hardliners attempt a coup to reestablish power.

On August 22, 1991, the Feast of the Queenship of Mary The Coup fails!

On December 8, 1991, the Feast of Mary’s Immaculate Conception, the formation of the commonwealth of former Soviet republics began, each one to be independent, indicating the imminent collapse of the Soviet Union.

On December 25, 1991, the Soviet red flag with the hammer and sickle was lowered for the last time, Gorbachev announced his resignation and the end of Atheistic Communism in Eastern Europe!

The conversion of Russia

You may say “Russia is not converted,” However, the Russian Government has outlawed many immoral anti-family movements Russia is the only country coming to the aid of persecuted Christians in the Middle-East

In October 1981, Mary said at Medjugorje: Russia is the people where God will be most glorified. The west has advanced civilization but without God as though it were its own creator. All is not finished. The fall of the Berlin Wall was not the end of Fatima; it was to be the Sign that God wants to save all peoples and all nations, through Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

In 1993, Sister Lucia told Cardinal Vidal of the Philippines: We are only in the 3rd day of the “Week of Fatima” The first day was the apparition period. The second day was the post-apparition, pre-consecration (1918-1984) We are in the third day of (7) immediately after the consecration “The Fatima week has not yet ended…People expect things to happen immediately within their own timeframe. But Fatima is still in its third day. The triumph is an on-going process.”

Have we experienced the world-wide Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary? The Era of Peace? What is God waiting for? For us to mobilize the forces of change as Cardinal Ratzinger stated when he revealed the third part of the Secret of Fatima in June of 2000

Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Daily praying of the Rosary. We’re to offer sacrifice for the conversion of sinners.
