Come Pray The GLORIOUS MYSTERIES @ Our Lady of Unity Catholic Church

  • Our Lady of Unity 2646 South 34th Street Kansas City, KS, 66106 United States (map)

Join Keith Nester (a former Protestant pastor who is now a Catholic author and speaker) and School of Faith’s own Joe Heschmeyer in praying the Glorious Mysteries like you’ve never prayed them before.

The theme will be The Glory of the Cross. What does St. Paul mean when he says, “far be it from me to glory except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world” (Gal. 6:14)? And how does this idea of the glory of the Cross change how we approach Lent (particularly Sundays in Lent), as well as our own lives?

It’s easy to ignore Lent, or to treat it as a slog that we have to go through to get to Easter, or else to turn these 40 days into a time for a crash diet to get ready for summer and “beach season.” But what if there was a way of letting Lent transform our lives radically, drawing us closer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus?

The rosary will be preceded by a short reflection on this theme by Joe, after which Keith and Joe will lead us in praying the mysteries. Join us at Sacred Heart (2646 S 34th St., Kansas City, KS  66106) at 1 p.m. on Sunday for the English reflection and rosary. A Spanish rosary will follow at 2:30 p.m. If you are unable to attend in person, feel free to join us by Livestream – working on the Livestream Details.  Keith will be Live-streaming.  We may also be streamed on the Catholic and Radio TV station (Hoping to also have a picture opportunity for the Leaven’s Story we are working on.)
